US World Cup women still don’t like turf

The US women are not letting a discriminatory decision by the world soccer’s governing body get in the way of their World Cup quest. So last week, despite a friendly to be played against Mexico on the grass at StubHub Center in Carson, CA US Coach Jill Ellis bused the women’s national team to Santa Ana College for practice on the school’s artificial turf field. “There’s no good turf, but at least this is a lot better than what we were practicing on before,” U.S. captain Carli Lloyd said about the training session.
