SportsEdge releases ShockWave turf underlayment in US

SportsEdge, a division of ABT, has released the new ShockWave drainage and shock underlayment pads for synthetic turf. SportsEdge has partnered with EnPlast Technologies of Houston to exclusively offer these products in the US and Canada for athletic field applications. ShockWave offers drainage and shock attenuation performance that exceeds current pad offerings in the market with only half the thickness of comparable products at very competitive prices.

ShockWave is a thermoset elastomer-polyolefin composite made in the US. It is manufactured from 80% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable. Drainage, sports performance and safety tests show that ShockWave exceeds ASTM and FIFA requirements for high school, college and professional fields. Shockwave is produced in rolls that transverse the full width of the field, no matter the width. And unlike other roll goods, ShockWave “lays flat and stays flat” due to its low profile and high density.

Rainwater passes through the synthetic turf and then through the ShockWave™ vertical drainage holes into the stone drainage layer. Even in vertical drainage applications, the horizontal drain channels can carry any excess water toward the sidelines where it can drain directly into the edge collector.
