USL partners with SCG Fields

The United Soccer Leagues, LLC, today announced it has named SCG Fields, LLC, as the Official Field Builder. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. SCG will be an official supplier for all related properties, including the United Soccer League – one of the most prominent Division II professional leagues in the world – USL’s Division III, the Premier Development League (PDL) and the Super Y League. In addition, SCG will have a presence at the USL’s annual Winter Summit in December.

SCG is a recognized leader in designing and installing both natural grass and synthetic turf sports fields, having done so across the NFL, MLB, NCAA, and MLS.  Most recently, SCG is constructing the Playing Field System for MLS side Minnesota United FC’s new stadium. From stadium fields to training grounds, SCG will work with USL clubs to ensure the best possible playing surface.

“As USL continues to grow and with the 2019 launch of our new Division III league, we are adding new stadiums and training grounds at an unprecedented rate,” said USL President Jake Edwards.  “SCG joins a rapidly growing portfolio of preferred suppliers, and will be an excellent resource for our clubs to ensure that their fields are installed with the highest quality.”

“Everyone at our organization is proud to be partnering with United Soccer Leagues to enhance the entire organization, its teams and its players through our expertise in building quality playing surfaces. Our goal at SCG fields is to deliver the best playing fields, on time and on budget that will meet the needs of every participant so that all members of both organizations may be proud of this partnership. We look forward to a strong and prosperous relationship for many years to come,” said SCG Chief Operating Officer Joseph Smith.

Over the next five years, the USL will oversee the expansion of an estimated 30–40 new franchises at the second and third divisions of professional soccer, creating numerous opportunities for potential suppliers and vendors to support this growth.

Through its Preferred Supplier Program, the USL will connect suppliers with both new franchise owners and existing USL clubs looking to deliver the best possible experience for fans. Preferred suppliers must meet the USL’s strict quality standards. These are “Best in Class” companies that provide services and products to professional franchises and stadium developers. The USL is currently in discussions with suppliers that support stadium development, as well as the build out of team front offices and operations.
