Strong 4thQ contributions for Project EverGreen

Project EverGreen ended 2007 as good as it started. According to Den Gardner, executive director of Project EverGreen, the organization had a great year with over 112 contributions from individuals, businesses, and associations within the green industry.

The fourth-quarter contributors include: Arysta LifeScience, Marion Bratsch, William and Carolyn Brocker, Dan Carrothers, Christmas Sprit Foundation, City of East Peoria, Cindy Code, Crowley’s Vegetation Management Ltd., Datacore Marketing, Davey Tree, DiSabatino Landscaping, Dow Agro Sciences, Ewing Irrigation, Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Hines Horticulture, Husqvarna, John Deere Landscapes, Mid-West Family Broadcasting, Nufarm Americas Inc., PBI/Gordon Corporation, Phoenix Environmental Care, Professional Grounds Management Society, Professional Landcare Network Inc., ServiceMaster, Sports Turf Managers Association, Paul Stoltzfus, Syngenta Crop Protection, TechScape Inc., The Toro Foundation, TOCA, Tomlinson Bomberger Lawn Care & Landscape, Tree Care Industry Association, Turfgrass Producers International, Walker Manufacturing Company, WM Enterprises, and Paul C. Wolbert.
“This has been an amazing year,” Gardner said. “We’ve reached new heights with industry support and that has allowed us to expand our mission and create even more programs and resources to educate consumers about the importance of preserving and enhancing green spaces.”
In 2007 Project EverGreen was able to connect more than 1,200 community volunteers with over 4,300 families through GreenCare for Troops, beautify the landscapes of new homes through their partnership with Habitat for Humanity, award two $2,500 scholarships, and kick off Yard Enthusiasts of America (YEA!) among other programs.

Project EverGreen is a national non-profit organization representing green industry service providers, associations, suppliers/distributors, media companies, other organizations and individuals. Project EverGreen’s mission is to raise the awareness of the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of landscapes and promote the significance of those who preserve and enhance green spaces at home, work and play.
