AstroTurf Diamond Series

There are many ways to measure success in a business in any given year. Two of the ways AstroTurf is measuring its success is by the popularity of the product and quality of the customer. The AstroTurf Diamond Series scored off of the charts in both of these categories in 2019.

According to AstroTurf, it has installed more Division 1 Baseball fields than all other synthetic turf companies in the industry combined. And the list of valued clients has grown yet again with some top programs installing the Diamond Series this year. Some fields are conversions from natural grass, some are moving to AstroTurf away from their old turf provider, and some are new stadium builds. And then there is AstroTurf’s long-time friend, Vanderbilt, which not only won a National Championship in 2019 but also upgraded its AstroTurf field to a new Diamond Series RBI system.

“When we set out to consider upgraded options for the playing surface at Hawkins Field, AstroTurf made the most sense to our program for a variety of reasons,” said Vanderbilt Coach Tim Corbin. “Since our first installation prior to the 2013 season, we have experienced a vast amount of success on our AstroTurf surface, and the product and technology behind it have only continued to improve. We are always looking to provide a cutting-edge experience for our student-athletes, and we are confident that AstroTurf and their team will continue to exceed our expectations with their product and customer service.”

In addition to the Vanderbilt resurfacing, AstroTurf also installed new fields at Appalachian State, the University of Connecticut, Oklahoma State, the University of Evansville, and the University of Pittsburgh.  This is in addition to the over 50 Division 1 Baseball schools that have already selected AstroTurf as their surface of choice.

The company also installed baseball fields for every division and at almost every level during the year.

“It’s really amazing when you look at the year that we have had,” said AstroTurf Director of Baseball Operations, Aaron Klotz. “The success of our baseball system is a testament to the research, development, testing, and commitment that our company has made in providing our customers with a system that is specifically designed to mimic the performance of each area of the field. With our new baseball-specific metric testing for our systems, we have taken the game to the next level. The game is now played with heavy metrics that are supported by data and I’m pleased to say our Diamond Series Systems back that up.”

The Diamond Series includes multiple artificial turf components that have been specifically engineered to emulate the look, feel, and performance of both the grass and clay portions of a baseball field.
